The depth of glassy reflectivity on this well preserved specimen fails to be compromised by a coating of rose-violet and coppery-gold toning. Intermittent flashes of blue iridescence can also be detected about the margins. This turn-of-the-century date had a proof issue of 912 pieces, the largest in the series after 1894. Census: 29 in 65, 33 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: George T.
