JURASSIC PARK (1993) - Velociraptor Eye Display - A velociraptor eye display from Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park. Velociraptors watched game warden Robert Muldoon (Bob Peck) and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) attempt to manually recharge the power grid to Jurassic Park.

Jurassic Park won a total of three Academy Awards& reg; for Best Sound Effects Editing awarded to Gary Rydstrom and Richard Hymns, Best Sound to Gary Summers, Gary Rydstrom, Shawn Murphy and Ron Judkins, and Best Visual Effects to Dennis Muren, Stan Winston, Phil Tippett and Michael Lantieri. The film also won three Saturn Awards to Steven Spielberg for Best Director, Best Science Fiction Film, and Best Special Effects to Dennis Muren, Stan Winston, Phil Tippett and Michael Lantieri.

Created post-production, this ornately detailed velociraptor eye with a sculpted yellow and black core, lifelike yellow and brown latticework veins, and a dental acrylic coating was created by key artist Rob Hinderstein at Stan Winston Studios. During production, the eye was inserted into a hand-painted and hand-textured foam and resin velociraptor socket display to demonstrate the dinosaur's potential eye movements to Spielberg. This lot comes on a custom-made, red and black painted resin foam display mounted on a clear acrylic rod. The display is decorated with a red and black painted resin circle mounted on a clear acrylic rod to highlight the eye, and two plaques with one inscribed "Jurassic Park from the personal collection of Rob Hinderstein Creator" and one inscribed "RAPTOR" with a Jurassic Park logo. This lot exhibits chipping material at the back of the display. Dimensions: 14.6" x 4.5" x 16.5" (37 cm x 11.5 cm x 42 cm)
