19 turnbuckles used on the World War I-period Curtiss ''Jennys'' and DeHavilland DH-4s, ranging in length from 3'' to 8.5'' long. The Wright Aeroplane Co. was involved in restructuring the DeHavilland to make it an enclosed airplane and Louis P. Christman, to whom these pieces originally belonged, was Chief Production Engineer for the company at that time. The original De Havilland DH4 was a British two-seat biplane day-bomber made by Geoffrey de Havilland for Airco, brought to America and restructured for service with the American forces in France. The Curtiss JN-4 ''Jenny'' was one of a series of ''JN'' biplanes built by the Curtiss Aeroplane Company and was also used extensively in WWI. With provenance from Cowan's.
