18th. century spinach green jade hand-carved in shape of a seated unicorn. This is a superlative quality miniature carving in homogenous flawless spinach green jade. The jade carving is a master work dating to the period of emperor Qien Lung that reigned China for 60 years at the peak of thriving arts. Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the author of the collectors' textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD". Estimated value: $800.
