The is a rare 18th century Nast factory French Paris porcelain platter decorated in the Sevres style with beautifully hand painted bouquets of garden flowers in a scattered spray. The Nast factory (1780-1835) founded by Jean Nepomucene Hermann Nast (1754-1817), Such was the fame of the Nast firm that it exhibited at the London exhibition of 1851, even though its Paris factory had ceased operating in 1835. The exhibitions were effective, for in 1860 5.5 million francs worth of Paris porcelain was exported.

As of 1770, a large number of porcelain factories were set up in the capital. In order to avoid the royal privileges that banned production outside the Royal Manufactories (Sèvres, Vincennes, etc) and to have the right to produce, factories placed themselves under the protection of leading personalities (Comte de Provence, Comte d?Artois, Duc d?Orléans, and others).
As for Marie Antoinette, from 1776, she protected André Marie Leboeuf, established in Rue Thiroux, which later became what was known as the Manufacture dite de la Reine.
