<td width="100%">
Beautiful set of late 18th century Louis XVI style French Old Paris Porcelain tea cups and saucers by the La Courtille factory founded in 1773 by Jean Baptiste Locre de Roissy. 7 cups and five saucers. The cups and saucers are hand painted in the fashionable floral decor border with gold gilt stars and gold dot's.The pieces are not marked with the Locre factory marks of a pair of under glaze blue crossed arches, but come from a dessert set that had plates from this same service now sold that were marked.. Condition: One cup handle has old staple repair and one handle has hair line at bottom of handle.

As of 1770, a large number of porcelain factories were set up in the capital. In order to avoid the royal privileges that banned production outside the Royal Manufactories (Sèvres, Vincennes, etc) and to have the right to produce, factories placed themselves under the protection of leading personalities (Comte de Provence, Comte d?Artois, Duc d?Orléans, and others).
As for Marie Antoinette, from 1776, she protected André Marie Leboeuf, established in Rue Thiroux, which later became what was known as the Manufacture de de la Reine.
