Beautiful rare set of late 18th century Louis XVI style French Old Paris Porcelain tea cups and saucers by the La Courtille factory founded in 1773 by Jean Baptiste Locre de Roissy. 7 cups and five saucers. The cups and saucers are hand painted in the fashionable floral decor border with gold gilt stars and gold dot's. These cups and sauces are not factory marked but the dessert plates were marked but now sold. Condition: One cup has a old staple repair on the handle and one has a hair line at the bottom of handle.

As of 1770, a large number of porcelain factories were set up in the capital. In order to avoid the royal privileges that banned production outside the Royal Manufactories (Sèvres, Vincennes, etc) and to have the right to produce, factories placed themselves under the protection of leading personalities (Comte de Provence, Comte d?Artois, Duc d?Orléans, and others).
As for Marie Antoinette, from 1776, she protected André Marie Leboeuf, established in Rue Thiroux, which later became what was known as the Manufacture dite de la Reine.
