This 18th century Old Paris platter with a Chantilly Sprig/cornflower design were made in Paris at the end of the 18th Century and bear a mark for Duc D' Angouleme Guerhart et Dihl porcelain factory Paris, This porcelain was under the protection of the duc d' Angouleme. Painted with decor de la Rene or cornflower pattern. This pattern was first painted on Sevres porcelain For French Queen Marie Antoinette about 1774. Cornflowers were favored by Marie Antoinette. The cornflower pattern is regarded as a classic Louis XVI porcelain pattern. There is a platter just like this one in the Museum of Lambinet in the village of Versailles, France. This museum is a history of 18th century Versailles. The last photo is of the one in the museum.

As of 1770, a large number of porcelain factories were set up in the capital. In order to avoid the royal privileges that banned production outside the Royal Manufactories (Sèvres, Vincennes, etc) and to have the right to produce, factories placed themselves under the protection of leading personalities (Comte de Provence, Comte d?Artois, Duc d?Orléans, and others). As for Marie Antoinette, from 1776, she protected André Marie Leboeuf, established in Rue Thiroux, which later became what was known as the Manufacture de de la Reine.
