Early 18th. century celadon jade carving in shape of an urn. The obverse side, (including the lid), is carved in high relief, with open work, featuring a pine tree and ling zhi fungi of immortality at the base. This is a masterwork of carving in homogenous celadon jade of the highest quality. There are no damages or defects. Length: 8" (20 cm.). Width in the center: 5" (12.8 cm.). Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the author of the illustrated collectors textbook: "Jade, 50000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors".
