Rare Pennsylvania case clock, one of only three known made in the region around 1800, with an engraved eagle shield, based on the Great Seal of the then young United States of America. The sister clock is on display with The Carnegie Museum of Art, and featured in their book "Decorative Arts and Design Collection Highlights", pages 66-67. Attributed to cabinetmaker William Cock (American1776–1856) and clockmaker Israel Gregg (American1775/1780–1847), both of Bridgeport, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Provenance provides clock was a family heirloom of the cabinetmaker's family up until 1928.
