Offered here is a delightful Chippendale drop leaf table dating to 1750-1780. The wood is walnut, the secondary woods used are white oak, pine and poplar. The table has ball and claw feet, cabriole legs, notched corners and scalloped apron. All knee returns are replacements. The center board is a replacement although appears to be an 18th century board. There are repairs to each leaf where the hinges broke out and at the center edge of one leaf. The table, for all it's years of use, is spectacularly charming. It measures: depth 48", 28 3/4" tall, 18.5" wide. Closed each leaf is 17 3/4" wide.
