This is an absolutely amazing period Louis XV Bressan vaisselier from France. We believe it was built around 1750 with walnut, burled walnut, and chestnut wood. It is still in very good antique condition.

This is actually a rare size for a period Louis XV Bressan vaisselier (hutch). The are usually much wider. These pieces, from the Brest region of France, are characterized by a clock being placed in the center region of the top. The clock is in good working order and is of the period (1750). It is hand forged bronze and has the Royal Crest at the top center with the French rooster sitting upon the triple fleur de lys. On either side are birds and trailing foliage.

The top curved bonnet has insets of burled walnut surrounded by lip mouldings of c-scrolls and leaves. The vessel and clock casing portion of the piece is also with insets of burled walnut and chestnut wood and has asymmetrical panel design. The bottom buffet has a chestnut wood top over a 2 door buffet. The center panel of the buffet has the same woods as the top. The feet are voluted hooves, as is typical of the Louis XV period.

Height 106 1/2" Width 57 1/2" Depth 22"
