Fine and heavily cast 18th Century Chinese gilt bronze Buddhist figure of Amitayus, seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus pedestal base holding a vessel containing the nectar of immortality and the right hand in vitarka mudra; the deity dressed in loose robes with a swirling scarf and adorned with beads, wearing princely ornaments of the sambhogakya form; the serene face with downcast eyes framed by pendulum ears and a five-peaked ornate tiara surrounding the coiled hair neatly arranged into a high usnisa; incised four-character script " ______" on the front at base of pedestal; incised four-character script, "______" on the back at base of pedestal; double vajra mark stamped on base; eight-character Qianlong Mark and of the Period; H: 13 cm, L: 10 cm, W: 8 cm, 879 grams; Provenance: Poly Auction (Beijing), Lot 9589, wax seal
