The turned elephant ivory knob handle on this early cane is 1.75" high and 1.5" in diameter. The stepped malaccashaft has silver oval eyelets and a 1" wide silver band at the step, but the collar is missing. The brass and steelferrule is 4.25" long. The silver band is separated at the step and has a triangular piece missing from the topedge, there are the expected drying cracks in the top of the knob, the finish is somewhat nicked and the ferruletypically battered, but still a nice example of what is probably a late 18th- or early 19th-century cane. Overalllength, 37.5".(EST 400-600)
