This is a very nice 18th century New England 4 slat ladderback armchair that has good "sausage" turnings and ball finials. The wood is mostly Maple with a nice mellow old refinished surface. The chair is 42 1/2" to the top of the finials and is 18" from the floor to the center of the front seat rail....the seat is 23 1/2" wide at the front. The rockers are a later addition, but fortunately were applied by notching the bottom of the legs to accept them, thus retaining most of the original chair height. The seat is also a replacement. This chair has the usual distressing and nicks that accumulate over the years that add character to an antique piece of furniture.
Shipping this item will be the responsibility of the buyer. I recommend LAMBRIX-BUSH WAREHOUSING, ask for DIANNE....information for them is in my shipping policies section.
