18TH CENTURY DUTCH CASE CLOCK: 18th century Dutch tall case clock by Antoni Van Oostrum, Amsterdam (1740 -1768). 8-day with moon phases, calendar wheel and hour striking 2- bells. Works appear to be original; 3 weights; alarm weight is missing. Dial is brass with Arabic minutes and Roman style hour numerals. Case is walnut veneer with marquetry and oak base wood oak. Slide-out removable bonnet or hood is made of walnut veneer and solid walnut with oak supports. Finely executed fretwork applied to a cloth backing for sound purposes. Original iron locking mechanism and gilt bronze pendulum aperture. Chamfered marquetry continues down the front door opening to a Bombay style base with walnut veneer and marquetry inlay. Bun feet. The clock is apparently in working order but untested and sold as seen. Some restoration noted and minor veneer restoration required. 98'' H x 23'' at the base, 12'' D.
