18AP-42 GALLAGHER CARB.Gallager saddle ring single shot percussion carbine, approximately .50 caliber, Serial #1218. The carbine is in good overall condition with a 22 1/4” round barrel. The metal surfaces have gone to a smooth brownpatina. The receiver is a grey/brown patina with areas of old, toning case hardening. The saddle bar and ring both retained. The smooth wood stock is in fair condition with mars and compressions consistent with service use, iron patch box and a smooth steel crescent butt plate. The bore is good, the action crisp and markings are sharp on this Civil War carbine with production numbers approaching 18,000 per Flayderman’s. Est.:$600-$1,200.
