18AP-31 SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOORSpringfield Trapdoor saddle gun, .45 caliber, Serial #NSNV. The rifle is in fair overall condition with a cut down 13” in length. The metal surfaces are a brown patina with areas of light surface rust and the rear sightshave been removed. The hammer is an old replacement. The smooth wood stock has had brass tacks applied and a bone ornament with horse hair hangs from the front sling swivel. The stock has seen heavy use with numerousdents and compressions and ends with a smooth steel crescent butt. The bore is rough and the action appears to function. Est.: $300-$600.
