18AP-13 COLT SAA #70298Possible Indian Scout lot including a Colt SAA, .44 caliber, Serial #70298. The pistol is in fair overall condition with a 7 ½” barrel. The pistol is a grey patina with light to moderate surface rust and lightpitting on the cylinder. The barrel has two areas which are leather wrapped, the trigger guard is an old replacement with repairs and the frame is black powder. Additionally, the front sight has been replaced with adovetailed blade. The wood grips are leather wrapped and decorated with brass tacks showing a pleasing patina in a cross pattern. The lot includes a period brain tanned leather holster with buckskin fringe andbrass U.S. Indian Service button. The holster is good condition showing wear and use with tight stitching. The lot further includes a 9” tanned rawhide scabbard with brass tack ornamentation and wooden drill for a bow drill fire starter in its own tanned leather sheath.
