1899 Twelve Panel Royal Russian Egg 3.8 Inches Tall (on a stand) x 2.1 Inches Diameter 9.6 cm Tall x 5.3 cm Diameter Austrian Crystals Pewter, Enamel Hand Painted Gift Boxed   This hand-painted sparkling egg is adorned with a high-polished enamel. The egg opens on a hinge and closes shut with a magnet, to keep the box securely shut. The piece comes in a beautiful gift box. History: The Twelve Panel is a jeweled enameled Easter egg made under the supervision of the Russian jeweler Peter Carl Faberge in 1899. The egg was made for Alexander Kelch, who presented it to his wife, Barbara (Varvara) Kelch-Bazanova.
