<B>1899-S $5 MS65 NGC.</B></I> This issue is much scarcer than the 1.5 million plus mintage would indicate; most of these coins must have met their fate in the furnace. MS65 and better examples are particularly difficult to locate. The present Gem displays luscious peach-gold surfaces that radiate intense luster. The design elements are sharply struck, and both sides are quite well preserved.
