<B>1899-S $10 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The mintage of the 1899-S is approximately two-thirds that of the 1899. But the difference in rarity at the MS64 level between the two issues is much more dramatic. PCGS and NGC combined have certified more than 1,200 MS64 1899 eagles, but only 23 MS64 1899-S eagles, with just eight pieces finer (12/07). The present near-Gem is well struck and has areas of prooflike luster along the reverse border.
