<B>1899 $2 1/2 PR58 PCGS.</B></I> Razor-sharp striking details and pleasing, if mild field-to-device contrast are noted on the surfaces of this lightly circulated proof survivor. The 1899 quarter eagle had a mintage of 150 pieces and perhaps as many as 100 still exist, although population data from NGC and PCGS is inflated according to Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, presumably by resubmissions.
