<B>1897-S S$1 MS67 NGC.</B></I> Although not a common date like the San Francisco Mint coins of the early 1880s, this date is generally available without much difficulty in grades through MS65. Even those at the MS66 grade level can be found with a little patience. However, Superb Gem examples like this lustrous piece are not seen with any regularity. Both sides of this remarkable beauty have brilliant silver surfaces and satiny luster with no evidence of toning.
