<B>1897-S<$20> MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The 1897-S is the second most frequently encountered S-mint twenty dollar coin struck prior to 1900. It is also one of the best-produced Type Three double eagles, and this piece certainly bears that out. The surfaces are bright and intensely lustrous with even, orange-gold coloration. Sharply struck throughout, the only detracting marks are a series of small field ticks located between stars 4 and 5. A very pleasing 19th century type coin. Only four finer examples have been certified by PCGS (9/06).
