<B>1897-O S$1 MS63 NGC.</B></I> According to Q. David Bowers, this issue is survived mostly by coins of inferior technical quality and poor eye appeal. Not so with this example! Well struck and only a tad weak above Liberty's ear, the surfaces display a very generous portion of satiny mint luster, and reddish-gold and cobalt-blue peripheral toning increases the overall beauty of the piece. Other than a single noticeable mark, just to the left of Liberty' ear, and a few wispy blemishes on her cheek and neck, the obverse is undisturbed.
