<B>1897 50C PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC</B></I> The 1897 half dollar saw the production of 731 proofs. Based on the PCGS/NGC population figures, several hundred of these coins have survived to the present day, mostly in grades PR62 to PR65. A little over 50 examples have been designated Deep/Ultra Cameos.<BR> The deeply mirrored fields of this Superb Gem yields fabulous Cameo contrast with the heavily frosted motifs. A well executed strike emboldens the design elements, leaving no areas with even the hint of weakness. The untoned surfaces are immaculately preserved; even the cheek and neck are completely clean.
