<B>1897 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> This flashy and solidly struck Gem has predominantly orange-gold surfaces, though the margins have glints of sunshine-yellow. The fields and devices exhibit only a handful of largely inconsequential marks. Though the 1897 has a mintage of under 30,000 pieces, many numismatists treat it as they do later issues with much larger production numbers, which creates an opportunity for the knowledgeable collector.
