<B>1896-O S$1 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> The 1896-O has triple trouble: strike, luster, and abrasions. The strike is often "below average, insipid and unattractive," to quote Bowers, and the luster is "typically dull and lifeless." The present coin is a happy exception, and a coin seldom seen in so fine a grade. The luster has considerable flash, and the strike is far above average. A few light abrasions are noted, mostly away from the prime focal areas, that determine the grade, but this is an exceptional Morgan dollar that bears serious consideration.
