1896-O S$1 MS62 PCGS. The 1896-O is not known for its quality attributes. David Bowers (1993) notes that: "Nearly all pieces are poorly struck with average to poor luster." The MS62 coin in this lot does not fit the typical '96-O profile. The design elements, though not fully struck in the hair over Liberty's ear and on the eagle's breast feathers, display nice, above-average definition. Luster is also better-than-average, and the partially prooflike fields promote a nice contrast with the motifs. The obverse exhibits low to medium intensity patterns of ocean-blue, crimson, yellow-gold, and olive-gray patination, while the reverse assumes light silver-gray color. A higher grade is precluded by a few minute marks on Liberty's cheek.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
