<B>1895 S$1 PR62 PCGS.</B></I> This proof-only issue in the Morgan dollar series saw 880 pieces struck. David Bowers (2005) states: "Today, most of the proofs remain and are cherished by numismatists. With the low production figure, the 1895 is far and away the rarest date in the series." The surfaces display a thin veneer of light tan color, which takes on a somewhat splotchy effect on the obverse. The design features are sharply brought up, and exhibit a nice contrast with the reflective fields. A few wispy handling marks are mentioned for accuracy.
