Toughest-Date 1895-O New Orleans Morgan Silver Dollar The repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act in 1893 led to a drastic temporary plunge in silver dollar production. Fewer Morgan dollars wereissued in 1895 overall than any other date in the series. The Philadelphia Mint did not strike any for circulation. This key-rarity Morgan of the New Orleans Mint had a mintage of merely 450,000. Today it's a very tough find in our nicelydetailed About Fine quality. Low-Mintage 1899 Philadelphia Morgan Silver Dollar Its 330,000 mintage was easily the principal Philadelphia Mint's lowest circulation output in the entire 1878-1921 Morgan dollar series. Todayit's far and away the key scarcity among Morgan issues of the late 1890's in our clearly detailed Fine quality. Nice circulated specimens are really tough finds. Only a few thousand are estimated to exist, much less than even prized mint-statespecimens.
