<B>1895 Cotton States Expo Official Medal, HK-268, MS64 NGC.</B></I> Gilt bronze, 34.9 mm, "very scarce" (HK, 1963). The Cotton States Exposition, held in Atlanta in 1895, was to exhibit "resources and possibilities of the Cotton States," to emphasize the revival of the cotton industry following the Civil War, to stimulate Latin-American trade, and to show that Atlanta had risen from its "fires and ashes" of 1864.
