A unique and beautifully produced large wooden letter and bill holder. With 24 compartments surmounted by an engraved Antrim Artillery crest with shamrock, thistle, roses and cannons either side and the monograms EP and AA. A small plaque placed between the crest and compartments bears the inscription "Presented by Colonel Pottinger 1895".Colonel Eldred T. Pottinger CMG had a distinguished career with the Royal Artillery and was a well known Irish gentleman. After his retirement from the Royal Artillery he lived in Portrush, was captain of Royal Portrush Golf Club and also commanded the Antrim Artillery . He died in 1905.
