1895 $20 MS64 PCGS. More than one million double eagles were minted in Philadelphia in 1895. Several thousand pieces have survived in Mint State, but the great majority of those are graded between MS60 and MS63, by NGC and PCGS. The current near-Gem displays alluring mint luster that flows unimpeded over each side, and the light honey-gold and rose coloration is delightful. Some specks of grease were struck into the coin on the upper left side of the reverse, as a minor luster graze on Liberty's cheek seems to preclude the Gem assessment. Only two examples of this issue have been graded higher by PCGS (10/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
