1895<10C> MS66 PCGS. This is one of the lowest mintage issues in the series, with a total production of just 690,000 business strikes, the lowest of any Barber Dime struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This mintage is the eighth lowest in the series (excluding 1894-S) and it is one of just 13 issues with production totals below 1 million coins. Even though David Lawrence once suggested that this coin might be overrated in Mint State grades, the present example will certainly be subject to the open competition of an auction, and will realize a price commensurate with its true value, which we expect will be considerable. This sharply struck Gem has satiny luster beneath lilac and iridescent toning. Vivid blue and green color may be seen at the borders on each side, framing the devices and providing exceptional aesthetic appeal. Population: 8 in 66, 1 finer (11/05).
From The Collection of Dr. Steven L. Duckor.
