<B>1894 S$1 MS61 PCGS.</B></I> Only 110,000 business strikes of this date were coined; the second-lowest mintage of the series (excluding the 1895). Bowers (1993) opined that the 1894 is the second-scarcest Philadelphia Mint issue in Mint State, behind the 1901. This example is boldly struck, with weakness noted above the ear, and exhibits full satiny mint luster.
