<B>1894<img border='0' src='http://www.heritagecoins.com/images/star.gif' width=10 height=10>$1> AU55 ANACS.</B></I> A nearly untoned example of this low mintage issue, struck after the 1893 repeal of the Sherman Act. The eagle's breast and the hair above the ear display slight friction, and the cartwheel luster is diminished across the open fields, but the sharpness is close to Mint State, and there are no relevant marks. Philadelphia Mint production of Morgan dollars fell dramatically between 1891 and 1895. By 1894, only 110,000 pieces were struck, fewer than any other issue other than the 1893-S and the proof-only 1895.
