1894-O$1 MS64 PCGS. Struck during the reduced mintage years from 1893 to 1895, a greater percentage of '94-O Dollars saw extensive circulation than other New Orleans issues of this type. The relatively small quantities of Uncirculated pieces that exist today are almost always poorly struck and exhibit drab luster. Both the quality of strike and the intensity of luster on this fully untoned '94-O are outstanding for the issue, but there is still a touch of softness over the ear of Liberty. A couple of marks are noted on Liberty's cheek and hair, one is also present on the eagle's breast. Overall, this is a well preserved example of this conditionally scarce O-mint Dollar.
From The Banks Collection. Lot:10445
