<B>1894 50C PR67 NGC.</B></I> Breen-5052. The 4 in the date is clearly repunched with extra outlines within the triangle of the digit. This apparently is only seen on proofs, but we do not know what percentage of the 972 proofs struck show this feature. The fields are deeply reflective and shine forcefully through the multiple layers of sea-green, rose, and gray toning that cover most of each side. A lovely early proof Barber half.
