1894 1C Doubled Date MS65 Red NGC. Breen-2024, Snow-1, FS-011. The 1894 Doubled Date cent is one of the most dramatic repunched dates that we know of. In fact, the only case that comes close is the 1955 Doubled Die, but that is a coin that was produced by hub doubling. Each of the four digits in the date is noticeably present to the northeast of the prominent position. The Doubled Date has long been recognized as a major condition rarity in Uncirculated grades. In Gem condition and with full red color, it is among the most elusive of all Indian cents. Only four other pieces have been so graded by NGC, and PCGS has certified 11 in 65 Red. The surfaces of this piece have a rich, deep cherry-red color. Sharply struck throughout. The only flaw that deserves mention is a tiny planchet flake and speck on the cheek of the Native American.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
