<B>1893-S S$1 XF45 PCGS.</B></I> The 1893-S is a coin that demonstrates a direct correlation between low mintage (100,000 pieces) and low availability. Always needed by collectors in all grades. We sometimes have a "grading set" of this rarity in major auctions, pieces that range from AG through lower Uncirculated condition. These pieces are always snapped up as the '93-S is the key to the series. This particular piece has smoky-gray patina over both sides with considerable underlying brightness. The striking details are strong for the grade, as usual, with only slight friction over the highpoints that interferes.
