<B>1893-S<img border='0' src='http://www.heritagecoins.com/images/star.gif' width=10 height=10>$1> XF40 PCGS.</B></I> Authenticators zero in on two die diagnostics for the 1893-S, a minute die dot on the left foot of the R in LIBERTY, and a tiny die line near the peak of the upright of the neighboring T. Both those diagnostics are present on this example. Evaluation beneath a glass locates a couple of moderate marks on the left reverse border and on Liberty's jaw, but these are partly concealed by the creamy slate-gray toning. Luster emerges from recesses of the devices. The eagle's breast is worn, as is the eyebrow and the curl over the ear, but the remainder of the design is sharp. Many collectors have begun a holding of Morgan dollars, but comparatively few have managed to add the key date 1893-S. Certified in a green label holder.<BR><I>From The Tide Collection.</B></I>
