1893-S S$1 AU53 PCGS. A lightly toned example of this desirable key date, mostly silver-white with a slight golden-amber tinge. Not only is the business strike mintage of 100,000 pieces the lowest in the series (save for the unknown business strikes of the 1895 vintage), but the 1893-S is also unchallenged in its rarity in AU and higher grades. The borders, legends, and fields have remnants of bright remaining luster. The cheek has a couple of minor contact marks, but there are no other mentionable abrasions. This piece would fit well into a Mint State set, at a fraction of the price. PCGS has graded 50 pieces in this grade, with 68 coins finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
