<B>1893-S $1 XF45 ANACS.</B></I> This wonderful Choice XF example has light wear limited to the high points of the design. The surfaces have faint hairlines that are not unusual, although this piece does not qualify as a cleaned example. It has not received any improper treatment through the years.<BR> The 1893-S is the classic rarity in the Morgan dollar series, with its limited availability (especially in higher grades) explained by the combination of low mintage and immediate circulation of nearly the entire mintage. There have not been any major hoards of this date located over the years, although every now and then, a modern day Virgil Brand will sell off a roll or two that have been pulled out of numismatic circulation over several decades.
