<B>1893-O S$1 MS64 NGC.</B></I> A shift in the political winds and the financial panic of 1893, one of the worst in American history, resulted in considerably lower Morgan dollar production at all four of the active mints. While the S-mint from this year receives most of the notoriety, the New Orleans issue is a formidable scarcity in better Mint State grades. This shimmering, minimally abraded example boasts excellent sharpness for an O-mint, with only a trace of softness noted on the hair strands over Liberty's ear. Essentially untoned centers give way to intermittent bursts of golden peripheral color.
