1893-O 10C MS65 NGC. The 1893-O, with a mintage of 1.76 million, was apparently not saved to any great extent, prompting David Lawrence to say that the issue is "fairly tough in all grades." Most Uncirculated pieces appear to be in the MS62 to MS64 grade ranges, as evidenced by NGC and PCGS population data. About 16 Gem examples have been certified by both services combined, and fewer than 20 pieces higher (11/07). The MS65 coin in this lot displays medium intensity cobalt-blue, lavender, and gold-brown toning around the borders, with a window of near-brilliance in the centers. The design elements are sharply defined.

Coin Engraver: Charles E.
