<B>1893-CC $20 MS62 NGC.</B></I> Variety 1-A. In spite of its low mintage, the 1893-CC is encountered in marginal mint condition with surprising frequency. Apparently a substantial percentage of the mintage was shipped to Europe shortly after striking and has only been repatriated in the past 20 or so years. However, the operative word in the first sentence above is <I>marginal.</B></I> The '93-CC tops out at the MS62 level and is rarely seen in finer condition. The finest example known is a single MS64 that was handled by Lee Minshull and Casey Noxon. As such, this MS62 represents the highest grade that is generally available. Like many 1893-CC twenties, this piece exhibits deep coppery-gold color over both sides. The striking details are also strong throughout. Numerous small abrasions and luster grazes are scattered over each side, but these are certainly consistent with the grade.
