It is also a low mintage issue with only 677,000 pieces struck. The typical survivor is softly struck and heavily abraded, which is what sets this coin apart from others. The surfaces are bright and exhibit soft, frosted mint luster over the devices with semi-reflective tendencies in the fields. The striking details are uncommonly strong for the issue with no mentionable abrasions on either side--the cheek of Liberty being especially clean for the grade. This piece represents an excellent value for the collector with many of the attributes of an even higher graded coin.
From The Dr. Volker Dube Collection. Lot:7267
