1893 1C Six Piece Proof Set PR63 to PR68 PCGS. The set 1893 1C Six Piece Proof Set PR63 to PR68 PCGS. The set includes:

Indian Cent PR63 Red and Brown. Vivid sea-green, ruby-red, orange, and gold colors embrace this well struck specimen. No carbon flecks, hairlines, or contact marks are evident, and the grade appears to be conservatively assessed.

Liberty Nickel PR64. Rose, gold, and olive hues endow the undisturbed fields. The strike is needle-sharp, since even the corn ear to the left of the ribbon bow is intricately defined. The 1 in the date is lightly repunched.

Barber Dime PR67. Sea-green patina dominates the obverse, although glimpses of golden-brown color persist within the headband. Deep peach and olive colors fill the reverse. Not merely a treat for the eyes, this Superb Gem is exquisitely struck and essentially pristine. Population: 15 in 67, 1 finer (12/04).

Barber Quarter PR66. Dappled electric-blue, peach, gold, and aquamarine colors illuminate this nearly pristine premium Gem. Fully struck aside from a hint of softness on the upper right shield corner. Population: 32 in 66, 21 finer (12/04).

Barber Half Dollar PR68. Gorgeous forest-green, rose, and gold colors enliven this undisturbed Superb Gem. The flashy fields contrast mildly with the devices, particularly on the obverse, although PCGS has not certified the piece as Cameo. The fletchings are fully struck, inconsequential softness on the right shield corner is standard for the series. The second year of the type, the proof mintage fell dramatically to a mere 792 pieces, identical with the Dime, Quarter, and Silver Dollar since they were offered only as a set. As of (12/04), the present piece is the single finest PCGS-certified proof 1893 Barber Half Dollar.

Morgan Dollar PR67. Lushly toned in champagne-rose, apple-green, and golden-brown colors. Razor-sharp aside from the curl above the ear, but even in this area, the strike is nearly complete. This magnificently toned and essentially immaculate Superb Gem would be a highlight of any proof type set. 1893 is a rare date for business strike Dollars, and certainly many collectors have substituted a proof in its place. The mintage of 792 pieces is less than that of the famous proof-only 1895. Population: 9 in 67, 3 finer (12/04).

This lot is accompanied by its original mailing envelope, which has the handwritten notations, "Proof Coins for 1893" and "$2.50." On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid. This lot is being auctioned in conjunction with a live floor auction by Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers. All final auction and invoice information will be supplied by Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers, and all other information should be considered preliminary. Lot:10917
